Local soprano Kelley Lonergan and percussionist, Alex Petcu have a Junction Festival treat for music lovers this Saturday.
They have put together a concert featuring an eclectic mix of music that includes arrangements of songs normally performed with piano accompaniment but have been re-imagined by Alex for a combination of vibraphone, glockenspiel, marimba and voice.
They are delighted to be presenting this concert as part of the Clonmel Junction Festival this year.
It takes place at 12 noon on Saturday, July 9 upstairs in the Main Guard. (Will finish just in time for lunch afterwards!).
Tickets are €15 and are available from the Junction Festival website, www.junctionfestival.com
The programme includes pieces by Bach, Debussy, Faure, Chausson, Abe, Ravel and Rosauro.
An Irish musician of Romanian origin, Alex is quickly establishing himself both nationally and internationally as an exciting percussionist of the finest calibre. His recent appearances as a soloist with both the R.T.E. National Symphony and Concert Orchestras, and as the National Concert Hall Rising Star recitalist are some of his main highlights so far
