Killenaule Rising Festival

Festival fun for all ages

Killenaule Rising Festival

The Festival is already underway with our bingo on Monday a huge success and the first of our over 40 hurling semi finals played.

Tonight Wednesday is the second semi between the local team and Fethard at 8pm, so come along and support. The Killenaule team has been named and can be found under the GAA notes in local papers.

The bridge classic on Thursday is in Ballinure hall and the poker classic in the Bit & Bridle has a 9pm throw in. All tickets have been sold but there may be a few spares.

The 5km fun run in Moyglass begins at 7pm and is open to everyone and this will be followed by a BBQ in the Village Inn at 9pm. The Saturday programme has been decimated due to a clash with our Senior Hurlers game. The fittest family which was to feature many of our senior players has been cancelled but there will be a scaled down version at our Sunday fun day. The "Come Dine With Me" which was proving to be very popular has been postponed to a later date as many of the hosts will be involved with the hurling match.

Sunday kicks off with our parade which assembles at 12pm in Scoil Ruain car park and will proceed through the town to the car park at the GAA grounds. There will be prizes for the various categories. We appeal to all parents to get their children involved and maybe participate themselves.

The family fun day begins at 1.30 with entrance through the car park and the main gate to the parish field. The will be a charge of €5 but all the local schoolchildren with vouchers will receive free ice cream and burger/chips. There will be plenty of sideshows for young and old so come and enjoy the day.

The Festival ends with our Over40 final and then it's up the town to your local pub to quench the thirst and relax to some live entertainment.

Our thanks to all our sponsors for their contribution's and if you haven't been asked to contribute you may still do so by contacting any of the committee.
