MHS Going Global departs for Rio

MHS Going Global, Tipperary's Olympic show jumping horse, set off on the first leg of his Olympic journey yesterday evening as he departed from his base at Ballypatrick Stables, Inch Thurles to Liege, Belgium before continuing to Brazil on Saturday.

Going Global spent the night in the UK after being ferried to Hollyhead last night before being transported from Dover to Calais today. The next stage of his journey will see the nine year old Aga Khan winning horse take an 11 hour flight from Liege to Rio on Saturday.

Ireland's Olympic hopeful Greg Broderick will follow his mount this weekend where he will compete in the Individual Showjumping event on Sunday, August 14.
