Congratulations to the Three Drives Family Resource Centre, Tipperary Town who played host to a panel of judges in the prestigious IPB ‘Pride of Place’ competition this July.

This year Tipperary County Council was represented by The Three Drives Family Resource Centre in the Housing Estates category. During their tour the judging panel spoke to many local people and were given a visual presentation outlining the work carried out in the Three Drives Family Resource Centre.

The project highlight activities central to its work including their Art Therapy, Family support, Independent Living, Bio-Diversity and After-schools programmes, and it was evident that the centre punches above its weight in the amount variety and quality of its service delivery. A number of local organisations were represented on the day and spoke enthusiastically of their working partnerships and admiration for the difference the centre has made in their local community and wider environs of Tipperary. A number of groups who operate in the centre were present on the day and an exquisite chocolate presentation created specifically for the occasion was made to the judges by Vera Miklas, chocolatier.

The morning’s activities rounded off with a presentation of medals by the judges to the children who had taken part in the Three Drives 1916 Sports day. The judges were very impressed with the standard of work being carried out in the area. The winners will be announced at the Pride of Place Awards in Belfast in November.
