Two homes in the Ballyporeen area were burgled on the same day this week.
A house at Glenconna, Ballyporeen was broken into between 3pm on Monday and around 2.30am on Tuesday while the occupants were away.
A small quantity of cash was stolen from the residence.
Burglars also entered a house at Curraleigh, Ballyporeen between 1pm and 5pm on Monday.
They gained entry to the house through a kitchen window. Some jewellery was taken in the raid.
A Cahir Garda Station spokesman appealed to residents in the Ballyporeen area to step up their home security and to be extra vigilant in the wake of these latest burglaries.
He appealed to anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the vicinity of the break-ins in Ballyporeen on Monday to contact Cahir Garda Station at (052) 7441222.
The Garda spokesman reported there have been several break-ins to homes in the Ardfinnan, Clogheen and Ballyporeen areas over the past week.
Meanwhile, Gardai are following a definite line of enquiry into two house burglaries that occurred in the the Ardfinnan area a few weeks.
Investigating officers believe the break-ins were committed by criminals from outside the county.
