Marianne supporting work of Cancer Society

€2,304 and 14" of hair for charity

Marianne supporting work of Cancer Society

Marianne Heffernan from Barronstown, Ormonde, raised €2,304 for the the Irish Cancer Society and also donated 14 inches of her beautiful hair to the Rapunzel Foundation.

“I decided to give my hair to the Rapunzel Foundation as I felt I could help people suffering from hair loss and at the same time raise money for a charity close to my own heart…the Irish Cancer Society,” said Marianne.

“I have seen first hand the great work that the Irish Cancer Society do. In particular their night nursing service which provides amazing end-of-life care for cancer patients and their families in their own home. They give practical support and reassurance during a very difficult time. The Irish Cancer Society is financed entirely by voluntary contributions from the public and receives no government funding.”

Marianne wishes to thank Ann Marie Ryan in Hair Fx salon, Tipperary Town, who gave up her time and skills to cut 14 inches off Marianne’s hair that was then sent the hair donation to the Rapunzel Foundation. And thanks to John O’Sullivan a volunteer representative of the Irish Cancer Society who came to collect the cheque.
