Portroe native Niamh Kennedy has been crowned Miss Ireland at the annual national beauty pageant held in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Santry on Friday.
The 20-year-old from Portroe near Nenagh beat off stiff competition from 33 other other beauty queens to take the top prize at the red carpet event.
A classically trained ballerina, Miss Kennedy works in the hospitality industry. and she now goes on to represent Ireland at the Miss World contest in Washington D.C. on December 19th. As part of her prize, she has secured a modelling contract and a professional photoshoot. Mss Kennedy showcased her singing voice to secure the top spot.
