An air of excitement enveloped St. Ailbe’s School recently for the arrival of All-Ireland hurling star Ronan Maher to celebrate the launch of the Positive Motivational Initiative at St Ailbe's.
One of the hurling stars of the year in Tipperary's march to All-Ireland glory Ronan enjoyed a year of great success.
The Positive Motivation Initiative in the school was launched at St Ailbe’s and is currently aimed at junior cycle students.
Principal Ruaidhri Devitt. said “Simply put, it is a scheme where the positive behaviours of the students will be rewarded by all members of staff through the issuing of ‘tokens’. The scheme will eventually be rolled out to include the senior cycle level.”
Ronan, currently an undergraduate at Mary Immaculate College, as well as launching the Positive Motivational Initiative in St Ailbe's, spoke to the students about the commitment required to achieve success, not just in sport, but also in all walks of life.
