Credit Union raises €900

Roscrea Credit Union members helped raise over €900 to help with work in the Philippines. The presentation of the funds raised was made by Marie Carroll to Fr Thomas Selva at a recent event in the credit union. Roscrea has very close links to the Philippines mainly through Fr Christy Kennedy who worked there until his death in 2015. At the presentation, on Monday last, Fr Christy’s sisters Maura Wall and Mary Fitzgerald were delighted to be in attendance. Manager of RCU Brian king paid tribute to the credit union staff for helping to raise the funds and to the credit union members who contributed to the fund. Brian thanked Marie Carroll for taking charge of the fund and he welcomed Fr Thomas, Ann, and Mary to the credit union and said that he had no doubt the money would be put to great use. While Roscrea Credit Union has always contributed generously to the local community the credit union staff through the support of the credit union membership have on numerous occasions in the past organised funding for those fighting disasters, poverty, and distress overseas. It’s another small but significant factor that one might like to consider when deciding what financial and community organisation they would like to be a part of.
