Gardai plan a further Operation Thor day of action in Clonmel District before Christmas in the wake of the success of last week's operation that resulted in the arrest of 62 people for criminal offences, failing to turn up for court sittings and failing to pay fines.
Twenty people were arrested for crimes in the day long operation across the district last Wednesday, October 12.
Eight of these people were charged with offences ranging from theft, burglary and criminal damage to arson and fraud.
The seven men and one woman will appear before district court sittings in the next few weeks.
The remaining 12 people arrested, including six women and six men, were released without charge pending the submission of files on their cases to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Gardai believe that most will end up being prosecuted for criminal offences.
A further 42 people were arrested under bench warrants and penal warrants for failing to attend court sittings and failing to pay court fines.
