Clonmel choir will represent Ireland at international Advent choral festival

Belle Voci Choir from Clonmel will be the only Irish choir to participate in the Advent Choral Festival in Prague, which brings together choirs from all over Europe for a weekend of choral singing.

The choir (some of whom are pictured above) is proud to be representing Clonmel and Ireland at the international event, which will be held from Thursday-Sunday, 24-27 November, and is grateful to Tipperary County Council for funding.

Belle Voci will be accompanied to Prague by its musical director, Eamon O’Malley, and is looking forward to meeting and socialising with choirs from the Baltic States, Austria, Hungary, France, Russia and Germany, among others.

Belle Voci is an all-female choir which rehearses on Monday evenings in St. Joseph's Church, Ferryhouse.  It perform two concerts each year - one at Christmas (which fundraises for charity) and the other in May.

The choir is holding a fundraising general knowledge table quiz tonight, Thursday, November 3rd in Liam Daly's, O'Connell Street at 8.30.

Tables of four cost €20 and there will be a raffle and spot prizes.
