Cashel is leaping into the digital age with the launch of free wi-fi in the town centre.
A growing trend in many town and city centres, free wi-fi helps to attract shoppers and tourists who use the service to get online on smart phones and other devices. It's a usefull services for everyone from tourists who want to know where to eat or shop, locals who want to keep up with the news and delivery or sales people who need to check in with their email.
Tipperary County Council is pleased to announce that Eile Communications Ltd, a company based on the Cahir Road, Cashel, were commissioned and recently installed free wi-fi in the Cashel town centre – Plaza area.
They say that this service will to be of great benefit to the citizens of Cashel and surrounding area and the many visitors who visit this historic town each year. It will undoubtedly add further to the enhancement of the visitor experience and the revitalisation of Cashel Town Centre.
The free wi-fi service will be officially launched by the chairperson of Cashel Tipperary Municipal District Council, Cllr Roger Kennedy, on the Plaza, next Tuesday morning at 10am.
Tipperary County Council is delighted to be associated with this project and acknowledges the support of the Commission for the Economic Development of Rural Areas (CEDRA) and the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government which has made this project possible.
