On Thursday (December 15th) Cashel Community School made its annual presentation of a Christmas Hamper to the St. Vincent De Paul.
This year the ‘hamper’ was in fact a sleigh, laden with all the gifts brought in to school over the last fortnight.
The presentation was made to Martin Quirke, from the Cashel St. Vincent De Paul, who thanked the staff and students for their generosity and assured them that their thoughtfulness would ensure that many of those in need this Christmas will benefit from the support.
Speaking on Thursday morning he and John Gallagher, (Principal of Cashel Community School) highlighted the initiative of First Year Students who made presentations to raise awareness of the needs to which the St. Vincent De Paul responds every Christmas. The six students are Hugh Bergin, Colin Geraghty, Jack Lonergan, Tom Marnane, Stephanie Harding and Elanor Whybrow. They and their teacher, Anthony Roche have done great work to help others.
