Former Armagh footballer Oisín McConville will be one of two guest speakers at an Addiction Awareness event organised by Drom/ Inch GAA club on November 24.
The two time All Star winner, who is now a qualified addiction counsellor, will share his much publicised experience of gambling addiction as well as sharing information on the signs a person may be struggling with addiction and what steps can be taken to help someone deal with their issues.
Also speaking on the night is well known renowned public speaker and former Governor of Mountjoy Prison John Lonergan who will discuss the dangers of addiction.
As part of the awareness evening, leaflets containing information on signs of addiction and contact details for counselling services will be distributed to everyone in attendance.
Entry to the event is free and is open to all members of the community from 17 years and over. Organisers are hoping that a representative from every family in the parish will be able to attend including parents, coaches, mentors and players.
The information evening will take place in Drom Community Centre on Friday November 24th at 8pm.
