Gardai investigate Cahir service station robbery

Two armed and masked men robbed a large sum of cash from the Top Oil Service Station in Cahir last night (Sunday, December 10).
The two men entered the service station shop on the Cashel Road around 10.30pm just before it was due to close.
A Cahir Garda Station spokesman said both men were armed with suspected handguns and their faces were covered. They threatened the male shop assistant at gunpoint and restrained his movements to prevent him raising the alarm. There was no one else in the service station shop at the time.
According to the Garda spokesman, the shop assistant suffered a minor injury while being restrained.
The Garda spokesman appealed to anyone who witnessed the robbers entering or leaving the service station or who saw suspicious activity on the Cashel Road yesterday (Sunday) to contact Cahir Garda Station at (052) 7441222 or the Garda confidential hotline (01) 6662017.
