Search for missing Tipperary man concludes after body is recovered

The body of missing Tipperary man Malachy Brennan has been recovered. 

Mr Brennan was last seen at around 6pm on Monday evening near his home in Borrisokane. An extensive search and rescue effort was launched to locate the missing 63 year old involving members of An Garda Siochana, Coast Guard R115, Fire Service Search Team, Nenagh Ormond Search & Rescue and the Civil Defence.

His body was recovered from the Ballyfinboy River at Kildarby at around 3.30pm on Friday afternoon.

His body has been removed to University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem examination however gardai have said they are not treating his death as suspicious.

Gardaí have also thanked the public and all the agencies involved in the search for Mr Brennan for their assistance.
