Tipperary attempted abduction - Gardai say reports 'not true'

Tipperary gardaí have said there is no truth to reports there was an attempted abduction in Carrick on Suir this week.

A viral post on social media claimed that "two of the most dangerous sex offenders in the country" had attempted to "pick up a girl" in the Lidl car park in Carrick on Suir on Tuesday evening (yesterday, April 17).

The online post even included two photographs of the men allegedly involved.

However gardaí have confirmed to The Nationalist that there is no truth to this report.

No attempted abduction was reported to local gardaí and the gardai were not out in the town yesterday evening asking questions about a blue car.
