Tipperary urged to take up Nenagh Lions Club Try a Tri fundraising challenge

Nenagh Olympic members get ready for this Saturday's Try a Tri

Nenagh Lions Club's fundraising Try a Tri event takes place this Saturday, June 9 when participants will get to challenge themselves in running, swimming and cycling.

This year’s event is in support of Nenagh Olympic Athletic Club.

The first wave of swimmers will start their 250m swim at 10am on Saturday, before taking to their bikes to cycle 10km ahead of finishing in Nenagh CBS track with a 3km run / walk.

If you are up to the challenge, you could take on the Sprint Tri which features a 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run / walk.

Registration is still open and to register, log on to; call into A Sportsman's Dream, Kenyon Street, or sign up on Saturday at the swimming pool at 8am.

Registration packs can be collected at Sportman's Dream on Friday, June 8, from 4pm or the leisure centre on Saturday between 8am and 9am.

Following the event, there will be a free BBQ for participants in Una Powell's, Summerhill, that evening between 6pm and 7.30pm
