Katie Morrissey flies the flag for Ireland at 4-nation Belfast tennis tournament

Congratulations to Katie Morrissey from Cashel

Katie Morrissey from Cashel was selected to play on the Under 18 Irish tennis team at the Four Nations Tournament held at CIYMS tennis club in Belfast last weekend.

Ireland had a team of two girls and two boys for age groups under 12, 14 and 18. This annual tournament is played between Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales and this year it was Ireland’s turn to host the event.

The tournament was played over four days from Thursday to Sunday. Katie was selected because of her numerous achievements during the past year and especially her recent win at the Irish Juniors held at Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis club in Dublin.

This is a huge achievement to be chosen to play for Ireland as only two girls can be picked for the team in any one year.
