A woman from Newport was arrested in August after Gardaí found her lying on a road, Nenagh Court was told.
The court heard that Gardaí responded to reports of a woman staggering out in front of traffic at Barna, Newport, at 6.15pm on August 23.
They found Patricia Healy 38, with an address at 84 Rosehill, lying on the road.
The court heard that Ms Healy was reportedly “extremely intoxicated and incoherent”.
She attempted to run away into oncoming traffic before she was arrested under the Public Order Act.
Ms Healy had a number of previous convictions for public disorder.
Solicitor Elizabeth McKeever said the defendant had a drink problem for which she had previously attended treatment. She relapsed on the date in question.
Judge Elizabeth MacGrath observed that the defendant had a young family.
She ordered a probation report and put the matter back to November 22.
