Tipperary courts: two are sent for trial for alleged assault and threatening woman in Nenagh

Two men who allegedly assaulted a woman in Nenagh were sent for trial to the current sittings of Nenagh Circuit Court by Judge Elizabeth MacGrath at Nenagh Court.

Shane Ahern of 20 St Joseph's Park, Nenagh, is charged with assaulting the woman at Sarsfield Street, Nenagh, on May 30, 2018.

Mr Ahern is also charged with demanding €450 with menaces from the woman on the same occasion and with threatening to kill or cause her serious harm.

Mr Ahern is further charged with threatening a witness so as to interfere with the course of justice at Banba Square, Nenagh, on June 7, 2018.

Judge MacGrath sent him forward for trial on continuing bail.

Stephen Donnellan of 45 St Joseph's Park, Nenagh, is charged with assaulting the same woman and demanding €450 with menaces on the same occasion.

He is also charged with threatening to kill or cause her serious injury.

Mr Donnellan is further charged with threatening to kill or harm the same woman on May 31, 2018, at Sarsfield Street.

Mr Donnellan is in custody and Judge MacGrath refused a bail application.
