'The long fine spell hasn't materialised,' forecaster delivers disappointing news


Met Éireann predicts a wet and cold weekend ahead

Latest charts show a mixed week with many areas dry Tuesday and Wednesday but the Southwest will be possibly wet on Tuesday, according to forecaster Alan O'Reilly. 

The weather will be wet in many areas Thursday but improving for Friday and the weekend again with dry spells and showers.

"The long fine spell hasn’t materialised," he added.
