Seven fabulous events in Tipperary this New Year's weekend

We hope you have a wonderful and safe New Year's Weekend. If you are looking for something to do, you can't go wrong with one of these seven fabulous events in Tipperary.

1. Citeaux Hall Social Dance

A social dance will be held in Citeaux Hall on Friday, December 30, from 9pm to 12pm. Music by Lawrence Campion. 

2. Moyne Tractor and Vehicle Run

Moyne Tractor and Vehicle Run is on in Moyne Village on Sunday, January 1, 2023, from 12pm. Registration starts 11:30am in the Moyne Community Centre. Refreshments will follow the event in Quinlan’s Pub.

All proceeds go to local charities.

3. Inch Loop Fundraiser Walk 

 In association with Inch Tidy Villages on Saturday, December 31. Registration at Inch Hurling Field at 10am sharp.

Walk departs at 10.30 am. Parking: Inch Hurling field. Refreshments available afterwards by donation.

Funding goes to the upkeep of Inch Golden Mile, Inch graveyard, and the village itself. 


4. New Year’s Bingo 

A special bingo event on New Year’s Eve will be held on December 31 at Cantwell’s Electrical Engineering Ltd. carpark, Via Mary Willies, E41 C4V8.

Starting time is 3pm with gates opening at 2pm sharp 

A total of €5,000 in prize money is to be won.

On the day, there will also be two special games, one game with prize money of €500 and a New Year’s Eve special game of €1,000.

5. New Year’s Day - Glengarra

Burncourt Hospice Committee and the Rhododendron Walking Festival Committee will host a new year’s day walk on Sunday, January 1, 2023 

Walkers meet at Glengarra Car Park at 10.30am, and the walk starts at 11am. Refreshments afterwards in Burncourt Community Hall.

Donations can be made online at www.gofundme.com Burncourt Hospice Movement and in buckets available in the community hall. 

Road Hurling Tournament

Knockavilla, Donaskeigh Community Council are holding their road hurling tournament this Sunday, January 1, in Donaskeigh.

Registration takes place in Donaskeigh Hall from 11am to 12pm start. 

Teams of 3, adult €30, juvenile €15. 

Open Mic Night- Holycross

O’Gorman’s Bohernacrusha, Holycrosswill host an open mic night to raise funds for Pieta House. O’Gorman’s Christmas Music Session will start at 9pm. 

Local musicians are invited to take part.
