One of the biggest days on the local racing calendar took place at Clonmel Racecourse this afternoon.

The 21st annual Clonmel Oil Steeplechase was the feature of a seven-race card in Powerstown Park.

The 1/4 favourite ‘Allaho’ from the Willie Mullins stable didn't let the punters down and romped home clear of French horse Janidil who finished at 3/1 while  Grange Walk was third for John Patrick Ryan at 33/1.

Allaho supporters were gleeful once more as the horse was a course winner in Clonmel previously also, when he won the SureHaul Hurdle in 2019 beating Minella Indo that day as well.

The winners in full from Clonmel today were as follows:

The 12.30 was won by Farren Glory the 13/8 JF.

The  1.05 was won by Any Road at 4/1.

The 1.40 was won by Stuzzikini at 9/2.

The 2.15 was won by Allegorie De Vassy at 8/11.

The 3.25 was won by Evies Vladimir at 15/2.

The 4pm was won by Rainbow Trail at 4/1.
