Initial indications suggest that the turnout in the Clonmel Electoral Area for the Local and European Elections is slightly higher in rural areas than in the urban area so far.
The turnout at the Ss Peter and Paul's School polling station in Clonmel town at 11.30am was 9.5%. This is a nine-booth polling station with an electorate of 3,721.
The turnout in the Sisters of Charity Primary School polling station in Clonmel Town at 11.30am was 9.7%.
This is a four-booth station with an electorate of 1,324.
The turnout at the rural Powerstown National School polling station near Clonmel was 11% as of 11.50am. This is a two-booth station with an electorate of about 800.
Kilsheelan National School, located between Clonmel and Carrick-on-Suir, is a two-booth station with an electorate of 1,156. The turnout at 12 noon was 13.3%.
