The Lotto jackpot of more than €11m was won by a Limerick player
A Limerick Lotto player is celebrating a fantastic start to 2023 after winning more than €11m in Wednesday night's draw.
The National Lottery has confirmed the first winning ticket this year was sold in the Treaty County.
It's understood the store which sold the ticket has yet to be informed and that further details will be confirmed publicly on Friday.
According to the National Lottery, there was one winner of the jackpot, which totalled €11,106,438.

It is the first Lotto jackpot win since October and the largest prize to be one in Limerick for several years.
The National Lottery has confirmed the winner has yet to make contact and it is urging all Lotto players in County Limerick to urgently check their tickets to see if they are the winners of the €11.1 million jackpot.
“This is an absolutely dream start to 2023 for one of our players in County Limerick. In the past 12 months, we have seen an incredible 19 millionaires made in the Lotto game alone but this is certainly one of the biggest. We are appealing to all our players to check their tickets carefully and if you are the winner, sign the back of the ticket and contact our prize claims team as soon as possible,” said a spokesperson.
For the record, the winning numbers were 18, 29, 36, 38, 40, 43. The bonus number was 30.
