Thurles CBS looking to bounce back from Harty defeat with quarter-final this weekend

Thurles CBS will be looking to put a disappointing Dr Harty Cup final loss to Cashel Community School to bed as they get ready for a tilt at All Ireland honours in the Croke Cup.

The mid Tipperary school face Dublin's Colaiste Eoin in the quarter-final this weekend in Park Ratheniska in Co Laois with throw in fixed for 2pm.

Colaiste Eoin have made this stage by default, having been beaten by St Kieran's of Kilkenny in the Leinster Schools semi-final on a 3-18 to 2-10 scoreline, they have advanced by defauly owing to the fact that Offaly Schools cannot compete in the All Ireland series due to being a combination.

The CBS will know and feel that they never reached the heights that they are capable of against Cashel Community School - who never allowed them to in fairness - and they have plenty more potential to have a fair crack at this competition should they have the desire left to do so.

Should they win this game and move into the semi-final they will face the Connacht Schools champions in Presentation Secondary School Athenry for a place in the final, while on the other side of the draw, St Kieran's face St Raphael's College Loughrea in the other quarter final with the winners facing Harty champions Cashel Community School.
