Clonmel Chamber of Commerce has won the Munster heat of the Ulster Bank Business Achiever Awards in the Social Entrepreneurship category. The Chamber were presented with their award at the regional finals in Thomond Park, Limerick on Thursday.
The Chamber won the award for the work that they have done to help the business and wider community.
"This is a tremendous boost for our members" said Chamber President Tina Mulhearne. "Over the years they have worked to ensure that Clonmel is a great place to be in business. In recent years we have worked to make sure that the Chamber is more relevant and that it better meets the needs of the business community and this award is recognition of that" she added.
The Chamber of Commerce will now contest the national finals with the winners of the other provincial heats. The national winner will be unveiled at the Ulster Bank Business Achiever Awards final in the Mansion House in Dublin on April 14th.
Clonmel has the only Chamber in Ireland shortlisted for an award in any category and the Chamber will be the only Tipperary company in the finals.
