McGrath calls for crime prevention officer for Tipperary

South Tipperary Independent TD Mattie McGrath has expressed his major concern that County Tipperary remains without a Crime Prevention Officer for almost a year after the retirement of the last Officer.

South Tipperary Independent TD Mattie McGrath has expressed his major concern that County Tipperary remains without a Crime Prevention Officer for almost a year after the retirement of the last Officer.

“Crime Prevention and awareness is a hugely important aspect of effective policing and it is quite simply unacceptable that the entire County of Tipperary be left without a Crime Prevention Officer for such a long period of time.” aid McGrath

“At a time of increased break ins and thefts, it is vitally important that the members of our community are made aware of how to protect themselves against crime. Local Community Alert organisations are doing what they can but they need to be supported. The Government plan to close down rural Garda Stations and further isolate those at risk”, he claimed
