South Tipp out to boost Tidy Towns ratings

A seminar to help and promote ‘Tidy Towns’ in South Tipperary was held on Saturday, March 31, in Brú Ború Cultural Centre, Cashel, from 10am to 1pm.

A seminar to help and promote ‘Tidy Towns’ in South Tipperary was held on Saturday, March 31, in Brú Ború Cultural Centre, Cashel, from 10am to 1pm.

This Seminar was organised by South Tipperary County Council to encourage greater participation and progression in both the National Tidy Towns Competition and the South Tipperary Environmental Awards.

Particular emphasis was placed on the waste minimisation and wildlife adjudication categories as well as supports available from the County Council and An Taisce. Mr. Billy Flynn, an adjudicator in the National Tidy Towns Competition and a number of other speakers were in attendance to give advice and answer questions during the morning.

The guest speakers at the seminar included: An Cathaoirleach, South Tipperary County Council, Cllr Michael Fitzgerald; Billy Flynn, National Tidy Towns Adjudicator; Bridin Mulhall, Greening Communities Coordinator; Sean Laffey, Cashel Tidy Towns; Labhaoise McKenna, Heritage Officer, South Tipperary County Council; Marie Phelan, Public Awareness Officer, South Tipperary County Council.
