A judge threatened to move last Thursday’s Cashel District Court sitting to Clonmel because of noise from machinery working outside Cashel Courthouse.

Judge Terence Finn grew frustrated at the loudness of the machinery working behind the courthouse and ordered Gardai to stop the work while the court was sitting.

“Is there any possibility that you can ensure the works are called to a halt while the court is going on. Otherwise I will have to take the entire court to Clonmel,” he declared.

The offending noise was quietened and the court continued uninterrupted.
