Valerie Cox: Will speak in Nenagh Library as part of the Bealtaine Festival
Well-known journalist, broadcaster and author Valerie Cox will speak in Nenagh Library this Tuesday a part of the library's Bealtaine festival of events.
Ms Cox has worked with all the national newspapers and spent 24 years working with RTÉ on Morning Ireland, Drivetime and on the Today Show with Pat Kenny and Sean O’Rourke - covering everything from national current affairs to the Ploughing Championship to the local district courts.
She has also worked abroad in Sri Lanka and in Vietnam, and, in 2015, along with her husband Brian, travelled to the Greek island of Kos, where they volunteered with refugees there. Both have returned several times to continue their support.
Valerie has a keen interest in the rights of older people and as a candidate in the 2020 general election found it was a great opportunity to get the issue on the national agenda.
She has written six books, the most recent, Independence Memories, published by Hachette in September 2021.
Join Valerie this Tuesday, May 2 in Nenagh Library at 6.30pm. All are welcome.
