The Michael Hogan Under 11 competition sees over 1000 young players take part in the festival today

The Michael Hogan Festival of Football will get underway for Under 11s across Tipperary today. Over 1000 young footballers will get the chance to showcase their skills and represent their clubs in what is expected to be an excellent day for all for involved.

The Michael Hogan festival of football is a competition run in Tipperary for Under 11 and Under 13 players. The Under 13 competition will take place in Autumn while the under 11 competition takes place all day today at various venues across Tipperary.

Over 50 teams from across the county will take to the field at various venues in the north, south mid and west of the county. It is an eagerly anticipated event. The popularity of the competition meant that many clubs entered two teams in the competition.

The Michael Hogan Festival of Football was originally started to commemorate the centenary of Bloody Sunday and remember the name of the Grangemockler Ballyneale native that has been carried across the decades.
