Staff at a Clonmel petrol station were held at gunpoint last Sunday night (November 11) when two males, both wearing motorcycle helmets entered the Amber Filling Station on the Waterford Road, threatened employees and escaped with the contents of the cash register. The two staff members were uninjured but in shock following the ordeal which happened at approximately 9.40pm and during which one of the robbers produced a small handgun while demanding the money, according to Clonmel gardai.
A small sum of money was handed over and both men escaped on a single motorcycle travelling in the direction of Carrick-on-Suir.
No description of the motorcycle was noted and Clonmel gardai are seeking the public’s assistance in helping track down the men.
They would like to speak to anyone who was in the area before or after 9.40pm who may have noticed anything suspicious or who may have seen a motorbike travelling at speed in the direction of Carrick-on-Suir to contact them on 052 6177640.
