Jesus Christ Superstar is a dramatised version of the last seven days in the life of Jesus of Nazareth and highlights the political and interpersonal struggles of Judas Iscariot and Jesus. The show first opened on 12th October 1971 in New York, with the London production opening on 9th August 1972.

By the time it closed, after some eight years and 3,358 performances, it had become the longest-running musical in West End history. The recording of the score of the show topped the American Album Charts three times.

Rehearsals will commence on Wednesday, 12th January in Banna Chluain Meala's Hall at 8pm and the society will be delighted to welcome old and new members to join the cast for what promises to be an exciting and very special production.
