An Independent councillor came under fire at Carrick Town Council’s monthly meeting for claiming credit for securing a new school for Comeragh College.

Cllr Pierce O’Loughlin, who is on the Tipperary Education & Training Board, told the meeting the planning application for the new school was imminent. But Cllr Sylvia Cooney-Sheehan rebuked him when he later claimed some responsibility for the good news.“How dare you take a claim on something started long before this. I hate that hypocrisy,” she declared.
