Gardai taking the plunge for Special Olympics

Special Olympics Garda Plunge.
Dear Editor,

Dear Editor,

The Garda Siochana at Killaloe Garda Station needs your help on Sunday, November 17 to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Munster. Local Gardai, including other emergency response groups have committed to grin and “bear” it for the athletes of Special Olympics Munster, by taking a chilly dip into the icy cold waters of Lough Derg at the University of Limerick Activity Centre, Killaloe, Co Clare from 2pm.

To ensure the venture is a success we need a team of 100 volunteers to take the plunge.

Plungers are being asked to make a commitment to try and raise €100 each for the cause.

We will be looking to local heroes, celebrities, political representatives and business people to come along and nominate one of their staff members or family to push them in!
