Yet another tremendous performance from Ireland saw them defeat South Africa on Sunday on a scoreline of 31 points to 12 to reach the World Rugby Under-20 Championship final.

Once more Tipperary native Brian Gleeson starred for Ireland, and the former Rahealty and Rockwell College schools star is now gaining huge praise across world rugby circles for his top performances.

The Munster academy star has now scored a try in eight of his last nine games for his country and once again at the weekend he proved his worth.

Tries for Ireland from Brian Gleeson, Sam Berman and James Nicholson - who scored two tries - was enough for Ireland to secure a final berth for the first time since 2016.

South Africa scored two tries courtesy of Imad Khan and Coetzee le Roux in Cape Town but Jean Smith missed two penalties which left them with a mountain to climb against the rampant Irish side.

The opponents for Ireland in the final will be France, after they defeated England 52-31 in the other semi final.
