With New Year resolutions at the top of our lists the Tipp Mid West Radio eighteen-week Why Weight Management campaign ended just before Christmas with a huge combined weight loss of 18 stone 7lbs. Spearheaded by radio presenter Breda Ryan, seven people who wanted to lose weight and work towards a healthier lifestyle were chosen to take up the challenge under the guidance of Karen Prendergast, Why Weight consultant.
Breda Cleary from Oola lost 4 stone in 17 weeks and it has transformed her life in so many ways. “My sleep apnoea has improved and I now enjoy playing with my grandchildren, shopping and dancing,” explained Breda. Bill Cussen from Galbally lost 3 stone and now has so much more energy and previous health issues have greatly improved. Marie O’Connell lost 3 stone 7lbs. “I can walk up the stairs again and not get out of breath,” said Marie. Caitriona Devlin from Annacarty was an emotional eater but now only eats when she is hungry. Losing 2 stone she now has a new outlook on life and is enjoying cooking and eating healthily.
Shane Egan from Clonmel lost two stone. He still eats the food he loves but now he keeps an eye on portion sizes and has dropped two clothes sizes. Mary Kavanagh from Tipperary lost 1 stone 11lbs and now enjoys going shopping. Nora Barron from Cashel lost 2 stone 2lbs and is over the moon is feeling much healthier and intends to continue on her weight loss journey.
Radio presenter Breda Ryan and Karen are starting the process again and are now looking for candidates to take up a new weight loss challenge commencing at the end of January.
