The search for the 2014 Tipperary Rose of Tralee is well underway in the Premier County.

Ladies from across the county are being urged to take the simple first step of submitting an online application form for the selection process which could end up one lucky lady representing the Premier County on stage with Daithí Ó Sé in the Dome in August.

Applications are now being accepted by the Tipperary Rose Centre from ladies aged between 18 and 28 across the county with the closing date for applications being Monday 21st March.

One of the most unique aspects of the Tipperary Rose selection process is that it models itself on that of the International Festival itself, to give all the Tipperary Roses a taste of what Tralee could have in store for them. There are a number of events taking place in the run up to the 4th of April selection night in the Anner Hotel, Thurles.

As Tipperary Rose Centre Chairman Ciarán O’Connell explains, the response has already been phenomenal. “We’ve been blown away by how many expressions of interest we’ve had so far. The word has definitely spread throughout the county about what an incredible experience the selection process is in Tipperary, and we’ve seen quite an increase in the number ladies who want to follow in the footsteps of 2013 Tipperary Rose Aoife Shanley.”

Clonmel native Aoife was on hand with some of her fellow roses to launch the search for the 2014 Tipperary Rose. “Where do I even start with the last 10 months? It’s been such an incredible experience that to this day I’m still struggling to put it into words! From the moment I was chosen as the Tipperary Rose, my life has been a whirlwind. It was such an honour to represent the Premier county, but really one of the most incredible aspects of the selection are the friends I’ve made from it. The hardest part is actually submitting the application form, but once that’s been sent in, everything else is really just like a dream.”

A new online application form that can be found on For anyone that would like more information on how to apply for the Rose, or indeed Escort selection process, call 0863871635, just follow the Tipperary Rose Centre on Facebook ( /tipperary.rosecentre ), Twitter (@TipperaryRosere) or simply email
