Christmas can be a tough time of year for Ireland’s sick children, so this year Folens have teamed up with the charity Children in Hospital Ireland to introduce some fun and colour into the various children’s wards all over the country.
Folens are donating 12,500 of their Christmas annuals, to more than 20 children’s wards across the country.
This includes South Tipperary General Hospital, Clonmel, with a donation of 300 annuals this week.
From Tralee to Letterkenny and Wexford to Mayo, Folens and CHI will be delivering €50,000 worth of annuals – various editions of Sugradh, Siamsa, Sonas and Spraoi - just in time for the festive season. Children of all ages will be able to enjoy the stories, art projects and puzzles within all December long.
Mary O’Connor, CEO of Children in Hospital Ireland, said; “CHI is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting and ensuring the welfare of all children in hospital and their families. We areabsolutely thrilled that Folens have chosen to help us make life a little brighter for the thousands of children who will unfortunately have to spend time in hospital this Christmas.”
John Woods, Tipperary Sales Representative at Folens, said; “We are fully aware of the amazing work done in South Tipperary General Hospital and in children’s wards up and down the country, and we hope this gesture will help make life a little more fun for our most important people.”
