The county senior camogie championships went up a gear yesterday evening as Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams got off the mark to stake their claim for a place in the knockout stages.
The West Tipperary club had lost both their opening two games in Group 2 ahead of the west derby encounter against near neighbours Éire Óg Annacarty.
Both sides played well in the warm conditions and Annacarthy led at 0-6 to 0-5 at the half way mark before a spirited second half performance by Kickhams turned the tables.
Just after half time the experienced Ereena Fryday was fouled, she took a quick free and struck it well. After that goal by the Tipperary senior star, there was only one winner as Kickhams won by two points in the end on a 1-10 to 11 at Dundrum.
The following is the league table ahead of another big derby game between Cashel King Cormacs and Knockavilla Donaskeigh this Sunday evening.
