Work has recently been completed at Cashel Post Office to allow for wheelchair accessibility.
The project entailed sloping the cobbled footpath upwards on both sides of the front door of the Post Office and raising the level of the footpath at the front door.
The job, which also included the provision of attractive cast iron safety railing, was completed with the minimum of disruption and has received a broad welcome from members of the public.
The design is innovative in that the work was carried out without the need to widen the existing footpath while the cobbles were also retained in keeping with the vernacular architecture of the town.
