High Society runs from Monday, February 14, until Saturday February 19. Tickets cost €20 and audiences are promised another spectacular show this year as the cast have been working non stop since October to make sure standards are kept as high as possible, as we know people who saw last years production of Disney's Beauty & the Beast are looking forward to been taken away from the glum and doom for these winter days. Meanwhile chairman Tommy O'Brien has taken the time to thank all committee members for the work they have done so far before the busiest three weeks of the year for the society.
The Tipperary Singers
The Tipperary Singers return to practise at the Community Centre, St. Michael's Street on Monday, January 31, at 7.45 pm. What a beautiful day to return to song, the Eve of St. Brigid's Feast and the first day of spring. This is also an ideal time for new members to join.
Next year will see the choir celebrating its 40th anniversary so we urge members to bring along all their music and favourite songs on Monday night. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our friends and supporters who braved the elements to support our Christmas concert in Aherlow House Hotel. It was a splendid occasion and we are most grateful for all your generosity and kindness.

Christmas Lights: Tipp IRD/CC are delighted to state that after all the years of slogging, begging cajoling, not to mention debt, we can finally say that this years lighting display costs have been met fully.
When you consider the expensive upgrading and replacement work that was carried out in the last 12 months it's a minor miracle that Brain English and his team have achieved this feet. We are supported in no small measure, by the Tipperary Town Council and we say thank you to the all the councillors and officials who supported us in the vital annual display. Thank you to all of you who contributed financially, we are hopeful in the future to come up with a plan to make this and other promotions more contributor friendly over the course of the year.
Tipperary Country Market
While this project is at a very early stage Tipp IRD/CC are in the process of trying to attract such a market back into the Town Centre again. In consultation with Tipperary Town Council we are negotiating with all concerned the possibilities and the opportunities re location and stall type. We are all in agreement that a country market in the town on Saturday morning would be a great addition.
Victorian Lighting: In partnership with Tipperary Town Council we are continuing to work on the erection of nineteen Victorian lights along Main Street which should be in place late by spring or early summer. These can only add to the overall appearance of the town and is very much in keeping with our Victorian town heritage status. Incorporated on the lighting poles will be hooks, which in conjunction with Tidy Towns committee, can be used to display floral arrangements during the summer months. This we believe is a very exciting and new addition to the town's landscape and is also a real indicator of the Tipp IRD/CCs ever growing and positive relationship the Tipperary Town Council.
