A number of arson incidents in Tipperary Town were highlighted at this months meeting of the local Town Council.
Independent Councillors Denis Leahy and Mary Swords said they had been approached by a resident of Fr. Matthew Street concerning an arson attack on the bottle bank in the area.
Cllr. Leahy said residents were in fear and that one particular resident had also been the victim in two recent acts of vandalism. Cllr. Leahy said he was also aware that the seat at Cluain Arann had also been vandalised by fire recently. Cllr. Mary Swords said that she was aware of the concern in Fr. Matthew Street. Cllr. Ruadhri Devitt enquired if the covert camera was operating in that area at the time. Responding the Town Clerk said they would examine the footage and that they might get lucky.
