Orla O'Dwyer has excelled at numerous sports
Tipperary’s Orla O’Dwyer passed a rare career milestone in Australia this weekend.
The former hurling and gaelic football dual star made her 50th appearance for the Brisbane Lions in the AFLW and starred while doing so.
Since O’Dwyer made the journey fown under she has gone from strength to strength. Making her debut in February 2020 she went on to earn All-Australian honours as well as playing a key part in the Grand Final with the Lions.
The West Tipperary star, a former student at Cashel Community School, made her 50th appearance against the Adelaide Crows and was on the scoresheet.
Brisbane won the game with style and in doing so are the first team to beat Adelaide this season.
They defeated the Crows by three points in an entertaining game between two AFLW heavyweights.
The win propels them into premiership contention after their performance at the Brighton Homes Arena on Saturday afternoon.
The Lions pushed on as a Belle Dawes goal edged them over the line to win 5.12 (42) to 6.3 (39).
