Peter Keane will not be the next Tipperary football manager
Former Kerry manager Peter Keane is not in the running to be the next Tipperary senior football manager, contrary to recent speculation.
The senior footballers, who were drawn in the opposite side of the draw to the fancied Kerry and Cork in next years Munster championship, are without a manager since David Power stepped down almost five months ago.
The Kilsheelan Kilcash club member had famously secured Munster SFC success in 2020 but stepped away after a number of defeats earlier this year in the Tailteann Cup campaign.
The Tipperary senior footballers will play in Division 4 next spring as they look to bounce back and rebuild again with a new look side.
The hot favourite to take up the position in recent weeks was Peter Keane, who managed the Kerry senior footballers from 2019 to 2021, but it was confirmed today that he will not take up the role.
This was football finals Sunday in Tipperary, and a hugely exciting intermediate final ended in a draw at Ardfinnan with a scoreline of Grangemockler Ballyneale 1-10 Aherlow 0-13.
In the senior final, played in Thurles, Clonmel Commercials hit some killer goals as they accounted for JK Brackens in a repeat of the 2019 final.
