RUGBY: Cashel keep the pressure on Nenagh Ormond in the race for promotion

Big win for Cashel rugby at home to Old Crescent in AIL

All the Tipperary sides in action were winners

Cashel were looking to make it four from four yesterday and did so in a convincing fashion in the AIL.

After an opening day loss to the new Division 2A season, the Spafield based side have now won their last four league games and were 26-0 ahead in todays game against UL Bohemians before seeing it out with a 31-7 win in the end.

They were in second place on the same number of points as UL Bohs going into yesterdays game at Spafield but in front of a huge home crowd they were comfortable winners.

At the same time yesterday league leaders Nenagh Ormond travelled up to Antrim to play Ballymena and the Tipperary side secured a superb victory with Conor McMahon on form with the kicking boot.

The final score there was Ballymena 7 Nenagh Ormond 23.

Meanwhile in Division 2C, Clonmel were 37 to 21 winners against Omagh Academicals. Another strong home crowd helped the side to victory after a close game in Clonmel.
