Michael Brett and Tommy Barrett pictured at a committee meeting
The residents of Moyne Road/Bellevue extend a very Happy 70th Birthday to committee Treasurer Michael Brett. Michael undertakes a lot of duties in his role as Treasurer and is always available when help is needed whatever the capacity.
He is well known in the wider Thurles community as well as he worked in the heart of the town for many years. An incredible amount of time in fact, as Michael spent 47 years in Thurles Post Office.
His dedication to the role highlights his honest commitment. As well as being a reliable neighbour and friend to many, Michael is also a long time pivotal member of Peake Villa football club, based at Loughtagalla.
He has always taken a keen interest in the game and adds greatly to the community involved in the football club. Michael always greets those he comes across in a pleasant way with his kind manner and good humour.
Realising the costs involved with running a successful club, he is part of a core group that work hard to raise funds for the club and ensure things run smoothly.
He does this on a weekly basis. Like others, he freely commits the time needed to ensure the club is successful and functioning well.
The residents of the Moyne Road/Bellevue area hope Michael takes the opportunity to enjoy his birthday and they all wish him many more years of health and happiness.
