Actor Johnny Depp among thousands who sign book of condolences for Shane MacGowan
Hollywood actor Johnny Depp is among thousands of people who have signed the book of condolences on rip.ie for legendary Tipperary musician Shane MacGowan.
In a simple message Depp says:
Shane, my friend in life and in whiskey. May the wind be at your sails. Keep River company and all our brethren who passed way before their time.
I'll never forget your support the last few years chum. LOVE Always, JD

Shane and Depp were friends for over 30 years, with the actor producing Julian Temple's documentary on MacGowan, Crock of Gold - A Few Rounds with Shane MacGowan, which tells the story about MacGowan’s career.
In 2022, MacGowan and his wife Victoria publicly backed Depp during his defamation battle against Amber Heard.
